WW/rm c: Fred Coffman, Law Department Council Staff t a- • vit) y City of Omaha City Council Members 1819 Farnam Omaha,Nebraska 68183 Dear Council Members, Please consider this document as my application for the open position on the City of Omaha Dock Board. My experience includes sixteen years as a former City of Omaha employee serving four years in the Finance Payroll Department and the balance of twelve years in the Fiscal office of the Omaha Public Library. During this tenure I also served on the Civilian Pension Board in a series of capacities of which the last eight years were spent as Chairman. I left city employment to finish an educational goal and have worked for the past eleven years for First Data Corporation in a series of positions each requiring increasing responsibility. My wish to serve on this board is prompted by my continued desire for public service reflected in my volunteer work to my community. I have done some research into the Dock Board and the responsibilities as defined through the State. I feel this board will be making very important decisions in the near term future due to the activity occurring with the riverfront. These decisions will impact all of our citizenry due to this commitment the community has made financially to support this initiative. I feel I have the business background, the experience in working with government entities and finally the trust of my community to serve them and their best interests well. I hope you look favorably upon this appointment. You may contact me at work or at my home. Thank you for your consideration of this application.
