RES 2022-1153 - Amend to Agmt with MAACH for Emergency Rental Assistance Program Funds (March 1, 2021 to December 29, 2022) City Clerk Office Use Only: 20' ��� Publication Date(if ppli able): RESOLUTION NO. !J ) I n 2022Agenda Date: ////LY • Department: iiZ '-i Submitter: 1 Pt1SE(/c)fr) CITY OF OMAHA LEGISLATIVE CHAMBER Omaha, Nebraska RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: WHEREAS, the City of Omaha has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury under Section 501(a) of Division N of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, Pub. L. No 116-260 (Dec. 27, 2020) for Emergency Rental Assistance Program ("ERAP" funds) in the amount of $50,000,000.00 to assist Omaha residents with rental and utility assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic; and, WHEREAS, the City of Omaha entered into an agreement with the Metro Area Continuum of Care of the Homeless ("MACCH"), approved by City Council on February 15, 2022 by Resolution No. 2022-0147, wherein MACCH agreed to provide assistance regarding the administration and distribution of the ERAP funds; and, WHEREAS, the City of Omaha received an additional $11,167,861.19 of ERAP funds to assist Omaha residents with rental and utility assistance as documented through Amendment No.1 to the Agreement between the City of Omaha and MAACH; and, WHEREAS, the City of Omaha received an additional $1,774,032.27 of ERAP funds to assist Omaha residents with rental and utility assistance as documented through Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement between the City of Omaha and MAACH; and, WHEREAS, the City of Omaha has received another $1,229,855.06 of ERAP funds to assist Omaha residents with rental and utility assistance; and, WHEREAS, the City of Omaha desires to amend the agreement entered into with MAACH to allow them to administer and distribute the additional funds. All other provisions of the original contract shall remain in full force and effect; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended acceptance of this amendment. RESOLUTION NO. 2D2l "I'- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement between the City of Omaha and MAACH, in the total amount of $1,229,855.06 for MACCH to administer and distribute ERAP funds to assist Omaha residents with rental and utility assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is hereby approved.
