The attached Resolution approves a cooperative understanding between the City of Omaha with
the City of Bennington providing for cooperation on land use and transportation within the
geographic area identified on the attached exhibit combining information that is part of each.
jurisdiction's master/comprehensive plan for land use and transportation needs. The agreed upon
coordination effort will concentrate on street size designations, required right-of-way for
respective streets, proposed street improvements and alignments, and locations for office,
commercial and industrial development in both jurisdictions within the identified common area.
Under the provisions of the attached cooperative understanding, both the City of Omaha and the
City of Bennington agree that if there are any changes in either city's master/comprehensive plan
that impact the common area, each of the cities will provide timely information of such changes
to the other.
This understanding, having been entered into by the City Council resolutions of both cities, will
continue until rescinded by either city.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, due to growth and development between the jurisdictions of the City
of Omaha and the City of Bennington, officials from both cities have over the last two years been
coordinating land use and transportation planning as well as developing agreements on sewer
service extensions; and,
WHEREAS, the two cities are currently developing an Interlocal Cooperation
Agreement, also called a Joint Agency Agreement, relating to interceptor sewer use and
construction which has concluded to the point that the two cities desire to reach an agreement
concerning the coordination of land use and planning issues within the agreed upon common
growth and development area of the two cities; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Omaha to enter into such a
cooperative understanding with the City of Bennington.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, approval is hereby given for the City of Omaha to enter into a cooperative
understanding with the City of Bennington providing for cooperation on land use and
transportation within the geographic area identified on the attached exhibit combining
information that is part of each jurisdiction's master/comprehensive plan for land use and
transportation needs. The agreed upon coordination effort will concentrate on street size
designations, required right-of-way for respective streets, proposed street improvements and
alignments, and locations for office, commercial and industrial development in both jurisdictions
