Patrick J.McPherson Hal Daub,Mayor Director Honorable President and Members of the City Council, Transmitted herewith is a Bid Tabulation and Ordinance authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to Alford Tire Company for a 12-month agreement effective January 2, 2001; extendible on a month to month basis for two additional one-year periods at the City's sole option; for flat tire repairs. Bid proposals were received on November 20, 2000. Attached is a copy of the detailed bid tabulation and price comparisons from the following vendors responding to the bid request: Vendor Bid Placement Alford Tire Co. Lowest and best Bid Cross-Dillon T.O. Haas Tire T.C.I. Tire Center GCR Truck Fire Walker Tire • The Administrative Services Department recommends that the City Council accept the bid submitted by Alford Tire Co. to be the lowest and best bid received for this price agreement for flat tire repairs. AN ORDINANCE to accept the bid of Alford Tire Company for flat tire repairs for a twelve month period, extendible on a month to month basis for two additional one year periods at the City's sole option; to authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order therefor; and to provide an effective date. WHEREAS,bids were received on November 20, 2000 for the flat tire repairs; WHEREAS, Alford tire Company submitted the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, the City of Omaha desires to accept such bid and authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order therefor. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. That the bid of Alford Tire Company for the flat tire repairs for a twelve month period, extendible on a month to month basis for two additional one year periods at the City's sole option, is hereby accepted and the Purchasing Agent is authorized to issue a purchase order therefor and in conformance therewith. Section 2. That this Ordinance, not being of legislative character, shall be in force and take effect from and after the date of its passage.
