RE: Condemnation appeal of 4207 Browne St.
Dear Mr. Brown;
My name is Trevis C. Sallis and I reside at 4207 Camden Avenue. I am a landlord in
North Omaha and have recently purchased a piece of property located at 4207 Browne Street.
This property was condemned on Sept. 13, 2001. I did not purchase it until Nov. 2, 2001. On
January 10, 2002, I received a letter from Mr. Kevin Denker notifying me that this property will
be put out to bid for demolition within the next 45 days due to non-compliance with the Omaha
Municipal Code. I did call Mr. Denker and per our conversation he indicated that I could appeal
the condemnation order.
Mr. Brown, I would like to appeal the condemnation order on the property located at •
4207 Browne Street. I would like to request a resolution to be introduced that would waive the
15 day appeal period. I have taken the necessary steps to ensure this property will become a safe
and sanitary home that anyone would love to reside in. These sfeps include:
1) Secured a contractor(Lamb Construction)
The estimated cost to bring it up and beyond code is approximately $12,000.
2) I have secured the funds already and they are waiting in an account for the contractor.

3) This property will be used as rental property.
Mr. Brown, I have brought a piece of property in the past that did not meet municipal
code. By using this contractor we were able to meet all guidelines and what was once an eye
sore in the community is now a house that has had the same tenant since completion. This
property is located at 2876 Maple StrePt. Also, Tom Lamb, my contractor, has a good track
record established with Mr. Denker and the city. Mr. Brown, I have not ever had any problems
with the city on my rental property, nor have I been in any violation of guidelines. This property
at 4207 Browne Street is located on the next block over directly behind my personal home. I
assure you my neighbors and community will hold me accountable for striving to enhance the
block at the completion of this project. This will be followed by a selection of good tenants. I
have enclosed a copy of my contractor's job specifications on the property along with timelines.
