WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department is authorized
pursuant to Section 21-1 of the Omaha Municipal Code to establish rules regulating the use of parks within
the City of Omaha which become binding provisions of the Omaha Municipal Code upon approval by
Resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, various rules have been established including rules specifying closing hours; and,
WHEREAS, the Greater Omaha Area Trailrunnerz Group (GOATZ) event will be held on Sunday,
October 23, 2022, at Glenn Cunningham Lake, 8305 Rainwood Road; and,
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the park closing hours be suspended between the hours of
11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022, to accommodate the
setup and tear-down of equipment and overnight security for this event; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department has approved the
suspension of the park closing hours on those days only for this event; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended approval of this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 and 5:00
a.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, Glenn Cunningham Lake, 8305 Rainwood Road, shall be open to
accommodate the set-up of equipment and overnight security for the Greater Omaha Area Trailrunnerz
Group (GOATZ).
