The Resolution consents to the possession and consumption of beer, spirits, and wine on City property during a reception and dinner at the Durham. Western Heritage Museum on April 30, • 2002, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The reception and dinner is part of the 2002 National Gang Conference hosted by the Midwest Gang Investigators Association, Nebraska Chapter. Alcohol will not be sold during this reception and no special designated liquor license is necessary. However, because the event will be held on public property other than a park and no license is present, it's necessary that the City Council expressly consent to possession and consumption of alcohol on the property. The Midwest Gang Investigators Association is a non-profit organization that provides training and information sharing concerning violent street gangs and organized gang crimes. Our non-profit WIN is 39-1575322. We are planning to host a reception and dinnCr for our conference attendees at the Durham Western Heritage Museum on April30th. The reception is scheduled from 5:00-6:30i with dinner following from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. During the reception we are planning to provide beer, alcohol, and wine to the attendees. We are asking for a resolution from the City Council at the April 23'd meeting to allow us to provide these refreshments at the Durham Western Heritage Museum without a temporary liquor license. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: THAT, the City of Omaha consents to the possession and consumption of beer, spirits, and wine on the City-owned property at the Durham Western Heritage Museum, 801 South 10th Street, Omaha, Nebraska, by guests at a reception and dinner hosted by the Midwest Gang Investigators Association, Nebraska Chapter, on April 30, 2002.
