The purpose of the attached Resolution is to appoint Timothy Sandos to the Board of Directors
of the Omaha Performing Arts Society, Inc. for a two year term. This appointment is in
conformance with the terms of the Redevelopment Agreement between the City and the Omaha
Performing Arts Society, Inc. for the renovation and operation of the Orpheum Theater.

Tim Sandos is the Qwest Vice President for the state of Nebraska. He directs Qwest's regulatory
and legislative initiatives in the state, and represents the company and its 2,400 Nebraska
employees in civic and community affairs throughout Nebraska. Tim and his wife Lisa and their
three daughters, moved to Omaha from Denver in early 2000 and immediately became involved
in the Omaha community.
Prior to joining U S WEST in Denver in 1998,Tim served in Government Affairs as vice
president of the Education Division for TCI. Tim was elected to the Denver City Council in 1991
and served for four years. Prior to this, he was an executive assistant to Denver's former mayor,
Federico Pena. In 1996, he ran for Congress in Colorado's 1"Congressional District. Before
joining city government, Tim was special projects coordinator for retail grocer King Soopers.
From:1977 to 1984,he was vice president for Bear Body, Inc., a manufacturing and distribution
company based in Salt Lake City. He at-tended the University of Colorado and the Kennedy
School of Government at Harvard University.
Tim brings to Omaha his extensive background in community service. He served on the National
Academy of Sciences Board on Children and Families, advising the White House and Congress
on issues related to the healthy development of children. He has also served as a trustee at the
University Hospital,and the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau. He was a member of the
Board of Trustees for the Denver Health and Hospitals Authority, and the Carnegie Foundation
Task Force on Adolescent Development. Sandos has received many awards for his work
including recognition from such organizations as Mile High United Way,I Have A Dream
Foundation,Downtown Denver Partnership,and the National Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Tim serves on the boards of the Omaha Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, Greater Omaha
Chamber of Commerce,United Way of the Midlands,Joslyn Art Museum,Nebraska State
Chamber,Creighton University Advisory Board,University of Nebraska Medical Center Board
of Counselors,Omaha Performing Arts Society, and Boys and Girls Club. He also serves as a
member of the Board of Policy Advisors for the Peter Kiewit Institute of Information Science,
Technology and Engineering,a Councillor of the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben,the UNO Maverick
Council Executive Board,the Nebraska Information Network Board and the National Hispanic
Caucus of State Legislators. In addition,he co-chairs the Omaha Chamber's Minority Economic
Development Council, and the Technology Committee for the Metropolitan Entertainment
Convention Authority. In 2001,Tim was selected by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to
participate in the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference(JCOC),reviewing the U. S. military
compliment and its five branches.
Lisa Sandos was Executive Director of the Latin American Education Foundation in Denver and
maintains her license as a nurse. She is currently the development director for El Museo Latino
and serves on the board of directors for the Girl Scouts and River City Roundup.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha entered into a Redevelopment Agreement with
the Omaha Performing Arts Society, Inc. dated November 13, 2001 for the renovation and
operation of the Orpheum Theater; and,
WHEREAS, such Agreement requires the Board of Directors of Society to have
five (5) members one of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City
Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Timothy Sandos to the Omaha
Performing Art Society, Inc.'s Board of Directors for a two year term; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Omaha to appoint Timothy
Sandos to such position; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the appointment of Timothy Sandos, to
the Omaha Perfoiining Art Society, Inc.'s Board of Directors for a two year term commencing
on the date of passage, is hereby confirmed.
