RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Omaha Public Library has a hand-made model of the Globe Theater that was
donated to the Library in 1987; and,
WHEREAS, the Omaha Public Library has determined that it no longer has the space or ability to
display this model and that it can no longer be of any legitimate use for the Omaha Public Library; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department and Finance Director have determined that the Globe
Theater model is of little or no value to the City and is inappropriate for public auction and would best be
served as a donation to the Omaha Shakespeare Festival, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to make this donation to the Omaha Shakespeare
Festival, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Purchasing Department, and the Finance Director, the
donation of the 1987 model of the Globe Theater, unusable for any City purpose, and as provided in Section
5.21 of the Home Rule Charter, to the Omaha Shakespeare Festival, Inc., is hereby approved.

RE: OPL Globe Theater Model to Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, Inc.
The Omaha Public Library has a hand-made model of the Globe Theater that the Library no
longer has the room or ability to display. Therefore, the Omaha Public Library wishes to donate
the model to the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, Inc. This property is found to be unusable for
city purposes. Therefore, per City Charter Section 5.21, I as Purchase Agent approve City
Finance to move forward with the process of donating the model to the Nebraska Shakespeare
Festival,Inc.as recommended above.
