Attached for your consideration is 'a Resolution requested by Councilmember Gernandt
extending the date of the City Council Task Force on Affirmative Action Referrals to remain in
effect and to extend the date for submission of a final report with its recommendations to the
Omaha City Council to April 30, 2003.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, on June 11, 2002, the City Council created a Council Task Force on
Affirmative Action Referrals to help bring cohesiveness to the issues and result in concrete
solutions to the problems surrounding the Affirmative Action plan; and,
WHEREAS, originally the task force was to remain active and in effect until
October 8, 2002 at which time they were supposed to present a written report and
recommendations to the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Task Force needs additional time for further research, and to
prepare a written report and recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the previously created City Council Task Force on Affirmative Action
Referrals shall be extended to remain active and in effect until April 30, 2003; and that it shall
present a written report and recommendations to the City Council by or before April 30, 2003.
