RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility of the Public Works
Department is in need of additional FLYGT scum pumps; and,
WHEREAS, due to the specialized nature of this type of equipment and service, it is
recommended that the bidding procedures be waived in accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home
Rule Charter of 1956 for the purchase of unique or non-competitive items; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of this additional purchase, totaling $16,922.00, will be paid from the
Sewer Revenue Fund 21121, Missouri Resource Recovery Facility Mtce Organization 116613,
year 2022 funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent be authorized to add to
Purchase Order No. 1276572 issued to Electric Pump for the purchase of FLYGT scum pumps, to
be utilized by the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility, in the amount of $16,922.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of this purchase from the Sewer
Revenue Fund 21121, Missouri Resource Recovery Facility Mtce Organization 116613, year 2022
funding.

Subject: Sole Source replacement pumps for final clarifiers
Request for approval of replacement of the scum pumps for the final clarifiers. The Missouri River
Treatment Plant utilizes these pumps to remove the scum that builds up on the final clarifiers from the
scum pits. The vendor for these pumps is Electric Pump.They have supplied a quote for$16,922.00.
The sole source purchase of these parts will retain standardization of the automation equipment and piping
in the system.
Please prepare a purchase order for the replacement of the scum pumps on the final clarifiers. Funds for
this contract should come from the Sewer Revenue Improvement fund Missouri River Treatment Plant
Operations budget as identified in the requisition. If you have any questions,please contact me at 402 444-
