RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Omaha Police Department wishes to donate 300 expired Armor Express
Vests, 11 expired miscellaneous brand vests, 7 expired Exterior Tactical Type Vests, and 90
Trauma Plates from old vests to the Ukraine Federal Police; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5.21 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter 1956, as amended,
the Purchasing Agent has determined that the 300 expired Armor Express Vests, 11 expired
miscellaneous brand vests, 7 expired Exterior Tactical Type Vests, and 90 Trauma Plates are no
longer usable for any City purpose; and,
WHEREAS, such Charter provision permits the City Council upon recommendation by the
Finance Director, to authorize donation to any organization to be used for public good; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has recommended disposal by donation of such expired
tactical vests and armor plates.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Finance Director and Mayor, the donation of 300 expired
Armor Express Vests, 11 expired miscellaneous brand vests, 7 expired Exterior Tactical Type
Vests, and 90 Trauma Plates from old vests, unusable for City purposes, as provided in Section
5.21 of the Home Rule Charter, to the Ukraine Federal Police, is hereby approved.
