Mike Fahey,Mayor Acting Public Works Director
Honorable President
and Members of the City Council,
On July 24, 2001,the City Council of the City of Omaha adopted Resolution No. 1865 appointing
Frank Brown, and on June 24, 2003 adopted Resolution No. 864 appointing Jim Vokal and Garry
Gernandt, members of the City Council,to assess damages,if any,to the owners and parties affected
by the vacation of a street or alley within the City of Omaha.
This Resolution is relative to the proposed vacation of Webster Street from 30th Street to 32rd Street
and the two alleys between Webster Street and California Street from 30th Street to 32' Street. The
requirements provided in Section 14-375,Reissue, Revised Statues of the State of Nebraska 1943,
states, "Whenever the Planning Board recommends vacating a street or alley without petition, a
Board of Appraisers will assess damages, if any, to owners affected by the vacation".
This vacation will allow consolidation of the right-of-way with the adjacent property owned by
Creighton University.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution.
Sincerely yours, Referred to City Council for Consideration:
