Improvements will include a playground, shelter, walkways, fencing, a small parking lot and landscaping. On July 7, 2003, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved the park master plan and cost estimate for construction. The Subdivision Agreement dated May 13, 2003, includes park acquisition costs, but did not include the improvement costs since they were not available at that time. Bids were received on October 21, 2003 and the low bid was $254,780.00. With soft costs, the total project cost will be $356,692.00. These improvements are consistent with the Suburban Parks Master Plan and the Parks, Recreation and Public Property Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached Resolution. No. 485, West Bay Springs, Douglas County,Nebraska; and, WHEREAS, said agreement provides for the construction and maintenance of various public improvements, including streets, sidewalks, sewer systems and the provision of utilities; and, WHEREAS, in addition, the agreement also provides that the Sanitary and Improvement District shall purchase land to be used as a public park; and, WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has approved the master plan and cost estimate for the park improvements; and, WHEREAS, bids have been received for said park improvements and the low bid is $254,780.00; and, WHEREAS, the soft costs are estimated to be $101,912.00; and, WHEREAS, the park site improvement costs and soft costs will be a general obligation of said District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: THAT, the bid for public park improvements by Sanitary and Improvement District 485, West Bay Springs, located northeast of 192nd and "F" Street, in the amount of $254,780.00 with soft costs of $101,912.00 is hereby approved and will become a general obligation of the District.
