The attached Resolution approves a Contract with Anderson Excavating Co. for the removal of
foundations and utilities and site clearing for the Long School Marketplace project northwest of
24th and Hamilton Streets. The FY 2004 Consolidated Submission for Community Planning and
Development Programs; approved-by the City Council on November 4, 2003, authorizes this
work.
The following bids were received April 30, 2004. The bid tabulation is attached.

Hamilton Streets Project in the amount of$143,850.00 from the 2004 Community Development
Block Grant, 24th and Hamilton Commercial Development Project, Fund 12186, Organization
129133.

The undersigned, being familiar with the local conditions affecting the cost of the work,
hereby proposes to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required to demolish the
following list of condemned building for the unit prices herein set forth:

Between 24th &25th Street from Hamilton to Seward Street remove 24th & Hamiltion $ 143,850.00
all trees with in this two block area. In each lot indicated on the plot
plan # 1, that is marked with an X, excavate and remove all buried
foundations,footings along with all trash and debris, back fill all
excavations to existing grade as required. Remove all flat concrete in
all lots and all sidewalks up to the curbs. Remove both concrete alleys
between 24th & 25th Street. Remove all retaining walls with in this two
block area. Remove the entire charles street , all bricks , concrete and
curbs from 24th to 25th Street. During excavation and grading remove
and back fill all uncovered meter pits and cisterns. As per plot plan #
2 cut all water services at the main, for a total of nine (9) services.
Remove the West 60 feet of the main 15' sewer line located in the
middle of Charles Street.
Any soil that may be brought to this site to fill the excavations shall not
be from any borrow site located within the EPA designated Superfund
site boundaries. The Contractor shall provide proof to the City Of
Omaha.
Back fill the excavation to match existing grade and seed the lot.
Compact the back fill to 95% of maximum density (based on modified
proctor test)
This project requires Davis-Bacon wage rates, copies attached in the
bid package.
" Each demolition site is a geographically separate site, not dependent or related to
any other demolition site, and each site will be considered a separate award, per bid
and attached specification."

WHEREAS, Anderson Excavating Co. submitted a bid of$143,850.00, being the
lowest and best bid within the bid specifications for the Removal of Foundations at 24th and
Hamilton Streets Project; and,
WHEREAS, Anderson Excavating Co. has complied with the City's Contract
Compliance Ordinance No. 28885 in relation to Civil Rights -Human Relations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the bid of$143,850.00 from Anderson Excavating Co. for the Removal of
Foundations at 24th and Hamilton Streets Project, being the lowest and best bid received, be
accepted and the contract awarded:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the contract with Anderson Excavating Co. for the Removal of
