RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha previously entered into a grant agreement with
the State of Nebraska/Department of Labor and was designated as the Grant Recipient for
Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds; and,
WHEREAS, under said grant, the City of Omaha through Greater Omaha
Workforce Development (GOWD) administers a variety of employment and training programs
in Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha through Greater Omaha Workforce Development
was awarded Program Year 2004 (July 1, 2004 - June 30, 2005) Capacity Building Funds in the
amount of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000) to be used for Staff and Workforce Investment
Board development/training; and,
WHEREAS, in keeping with WIA requirements, the award of Capacity Building
Funds constitutes a modification to the Five Year Plan.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Greater Omaha Tri County Workforce Investment
Board recommends approval of this modification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the attached modification to the Grant Agreement (Five Year Plan)
between the City of Omaha and the State of Nebraska/Department of Labor to provide Capacity
Building Funds in the amount of Seven Thousand Dollar ($7,000) for Program Year 2004 (July
1, 2004 through June 30, 2005) as recommended by the Mayor, is hereby approved.
