Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving a contract with Spectracom, Inc. dba River City
Recycling for SC 2003-02, being the receipt and disposal of rubbish received from Omaha
residents. The contract was approved by City Council by Resolution No. 2732 on December 22,
2002. The contract provided for a one-year contract and two additional one-year extensions, and
the first one-year extension was approved by the City Council on November 18, 2003.
The Public Works Department recommends an additional extension of the contract. This
contract extension will run from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005. The estimated amount
to be spent is $50,000 and will be paid from the Solid Waste Collection and Disposal,
Organization 116321, Fund 11111, year 2005 expenditure.
The Public Work Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution and contract.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Spectracom, Inc dba River City Recycling was awarded contract SC
2003-02, being the receipt and disposal of rubbish from Omaha residents, under Council
Resolution No. 2732 on December 22, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, SC 2003-02 provides for an initial term of one year, through
December 31, 2003, and includes provisions for two one-year extensions at the option of the
City; and,
WHEREAS, SC 2003-02 was previously extended through December 31, 2004;
and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department recommends an additional one-year
extension of SC 2003-02, through December 31, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, subject to the availability of funds, contract SC 2003-02 with Spectracom,
Inc dba River City Recycling is hereby extended from January 1, 2005 through December 31,
2005.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay $50,000 from the Solid
Waste Collection and Disposal Organization 116321, Fund 11111, year 2005 expenditure.
