Section 2.That this Ordinance shall be in full force and take effect January 28, 2004. (10601 Military Road) PASSED:January 13, 2004, 5-2 APPROVED BY: 4 e • January 2,2+004 Attention: Mayor Mike.Fahey &City Council Members My wife and I own the acreage at 10601 Military Road which is to be annexed January 28, 2004. We have lived at this address for 28 years. When we moved here all our neighbors were farmers. Our acreage is approximately 3 acres which contains two barns, a harness shop, chicken houses, etc., from a large horse farm. We have our own well, our own septic system, and we take care of our own garbage. Military Road was widened a few years ago but the sewer was not extended in front of our property. Our closest sewer is 105th Street. We attended the Informational Meeting, December 10, at Millard North. At that time we were advised by the Public Works Representative that for us to connect to the city sewer line would cost approximately $12,000.00. This combined with the additional raise in city property taxes for our property would be an extreme hardship for us. We board a few horses and store a few old cars to supplement our Social Security. At the present time we are boarding 8 horses. We have a pet donkey, a pot-bellied pig, 1 chicken, 3 ducks, 1 dog and a few cats. We also take care of horses for the Humane Society for this area because they don't have facilities for horses. We have 19 Grand and Great Grandchildren who all enjoy spending time on the acreage. I am 78 years old and I would like to live here as long as I am healthy, so please don't annex us. Sincerely, _ .
