The attached Resolution approves a Contract with Anderson Excavating Co. for the removal of
foundations and site clearance for the construction of new houses in the Long School
Neighborhood on Decatur Street between 25th and 26th Streets. The FY 2005 Consolidated
Submission for Community Planning and Development Programs, approved by the City Council
on November 2, 2005, authorizes this work.
The following bids were received March 30, 2005. The bid tabulation is attached.

The Contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is
City policy, the Human Relations Director will continue to review the Contractor to ensure
compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of the Removal of Foundations and Trees
Project at 25th and Decatur Streets in the amount of $34,700.00 from the FY 2005 HOME
Program, Long School Homebuyer Project, Fund 12179, Organization 128062.

The successful contractor shall provide a certificate of insurance indicating
(1)adequate workers'compensation;(2)public liability in an amount not less
than$250,000 for injuries including accidental death to any person and subject
to the same limit to each person in an amount of not less than$500,000 where
more than one person is involved in any one accident;and(3)property
damage insurance in an amount not less than$500,000;and naming the City
of Omaha an additional insured.

The undersigned, being familiar with the local conditions affecting the cost of the work,
hereby proposes to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required to demolish the
following list of condemned building for the unit prices herein set forth:

As per the plot plan remove all trees and tree stumps with in area. 2508 thru 2532 $ 3 4/100.00
Excavate and remove all buried foundations marked with an X for (a Decatur
total of 10) with all footings along with all trash and debris, back fill all
excavations to existing grade as required,with clean soil. Remove all
flat concrete in all lots and sidewalks inc.all terrace steps and walls up
to the curbs. During excavation and grading remove and back fill all
uncovered meter pits and cisterns.with clean soil.
Any soil that may be brought to this site to fill the excavations shall not
be from any borrow site located within the EPA designated Super
fund site boundaries.The Contractor shall provide proof to the City Of
Omaha.
In plot plan#1, Cut all water services at the main,for a total of(6)
services to the vacant lots.
" Each demolition site is a geographically separate site, not dependent or related to
any other demolition site, and each site will be considered a separate award, per bid
and attached specification."
