The attached Resolution approves the contract with John T. Jones Construction Co. for OPW
50682, being Sludge Thickening and Other Improvements at the Papillion Creek Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
The following bids were received on March 2, 2005.
Contractor Total Bid
JOHN T. JONES CONSTRUCTION CO. $2,933,119.00 (LOW BID)
CAS Construction, Inc. $2,957.000.00
Hawkins Construction Co. $3,020,193.00
W. Boyd Jones Construction Co. $3,218,000.00
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is
City policy, the Human Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure compliance with
the Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of OPW 50682 from the Capital Asset
Replacement Program Organization 116913, Sewer Revenue Improvements Fund 21124, 2005
expenditures.
The Public Works Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from John T. Jones
Construction Co. in the amount of $2,933,119.00, being the lowest and best bid received, and
requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, bids were submitted on March 2, 2005 for OPW 50682, being
Sludge Thickening and Other Improvements at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant;
and,
WHEREAS, John T. Jones Construction Co. submitted a bid of $2,933,119.00,
being the lowest and best bid received for OPW 50682.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the bid of $2,933,119.00 from John T. Jones Construction Co. OPW
50682, being Sludge Thickening and Other Improvements at the Papillion Creek Wastewater
Treatment Plant,being the lowest and best bid received within the bid specifications,be accepted
and the contract be awarded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the contract with John T. Jones
Construction Co. for OPW 50682, being Sludge Thickening and Other Improvements at the
Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, in the amount of $2,933,119.00 is hereby
approved; and that the Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of OPW 50682 from the
Capital Asset Replacement Program Organization 116913, Sewer Revenue Improvements Fund
21124, 2005 expenditures.
