RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha previously entered into a grant agreement with
the State of Nebraska/Department of Labor and was designated as the Grant Recipient for
Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds; and,
WHEREAS, under said grant, the City of Omaha through Greater Omaha
Workforce Development (GOWD) administers a variety of employment and training programs
in Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties under Title I of the Workforce Investment Act; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha through Greater Omaha Workforce Development
was awarded Program Year 2004 (July 1, 2004 — June 30, 2005) Incentive Funds in the amount
of $22,346 (Twenty-Two Thousand Three Hundred Forty-Six Dollars) for WIA performance
outcomes for Program Year 2003 (July 1, 2003 —June 30, 2004); and,
WHEREAS, in keeping with WIA requirements, the award of Incentive Funds
constitutes a modification to the Five Year Plan; and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor and the Greater Omaha Tri County Workforce Investment
Board recommends approval of this modification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the attached modification to the Grant Agreement (Five Year Plan)
between the City of Omaha and the State of Nebraska/Department of Labor to provide Incentive
Funds for WIA performance outcomes in the amount of$22,346 (Twenty-Two Thousand Three
Hundred Forty-Six Dollars) for Program Year 2004 (July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005) as -
recommended by the Mayor, is hereby approved.
