Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizing the payment to Brenda J.Smith
International Police Technologies, Inc. (IPT) in the amount of Deputy Chief of Police
$112,000.00 for 16 digital cruiser cameras. This 2005 purchase was, Donald W.Thorson
subject to Council approval, authorized by a 2004 ordinance. Deputy Chief of Police
IPT will provide the hardware,the software, and the services necessary to install the digital cameras
in Omaha Police Department cruisers.
Funds of $112,000.00 have been appropriated in Fiscal Year 2005, General Fund 11111,
Organization 113141 Fleet & Facilities, Account 44118 Photo/Video/Recording Equipment. The
Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost from this account.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, IPT submitted an open competitive proposal for digital cruiser
cameras; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance #36876, authorizing the funding for an Agreement
between DOT.Comm and International Police Technologies, Inc. (IPT) on behalf of the Omaha
Police Department for digital cruiser cameras, was passed December 7, 2004; such authorization
including this 2005 purchase subject to Council approval; and,
WHEREAS, the Omaha Police Department wishes to purchase 16 digital cruiser
cameras in the amount of$112,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, IPT will provide the hardware,the software, and the services necessary
to install the digital cameras in Omaha Police Department cruisers; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended the approval of this payment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the purchase based upon the proposal of
International Police Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $112,000.00 for 16 digital cruiser
cameras, is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department of the City of Omaha is authorized to pay -
$112,000.00 for the cost of the cameras from Fiscal Year 2005, General Fund 11111,
Organization 113141 Fleet&Facilities,Account 44118 Photo/Video/Recording Equipment.
