Over the past several years there have been various modifications in the collective bargaining agreements relative to pay steps, service needed for pay steps, and the number of pay steps. Many of the changes have not made it into Section 23-178 of the Omaha Municipal Code. This ordinance updates Section 23-178 by incorporating the language which currently appears in the various collective bargaining agreements which should eliminate confusion. Your favorable consideration of the attached ordinance is respectfully requested.
