Ordinance Transferring Appropriations in the 2004 Budget
For the Final Closing of Fiscal 2004 General Fund
We present this Ordinance for your consideration pursuant to Section 5.10 of the Home Rule
Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended.
The Ordinance is the final document to close the City's fiscal records for the year 2004.
Explanations for significant budget variances in revenues and expenditures have been provided
to the City Council in a separate 2004 Year End Financial Report.
The Ordinance transfers $500,000 to the Contingent Liability Reserve Fund; used to make
payments related to legal settlements and other liabilities. The 2004 ending balance for this fund
will be approximately$1.4 million after the transfer.
The remaining General Fund balance of$3,764,336 will be carried forward as an initial credit in
the 2006 Budget, in accordance with City Charter provisions.
We recommend your favorable consideration and adoption of the Ordinance as presented.

Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended, and to fix the effective date hereof
to be immediately upon passage in accordance with Section 2.12 of the Home Rule
Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
Section 1. The following summary and transfer of funds is hereby made related to the
2004 Budget, General Fund of the City of Omaha.
