P s A ,c t. Larry N.Foster Mike Fahey,Mayor Acting Director January 10, 2006 Honorable President And Members of the City Council, The attached Resolution authorizes Sanitary and Improvement District No. 492, Stone Ridge, southwest of 156th and Fort Street, to make public park improvements in a not to exceed amount of $322,156.00, an amount that includes the updated construction cost estimate of$230,112.00 plus the 40% soft costs. Improvements will include a water playground, with multiple spray features; shelter; picnic tables;benches; walkways; fencing; a small parking lot and landscaping. On February 2, 2004, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved the park master plan and cost estimate for construction. The Subdivision Agreement dated September 28, 2004, includes park development costs of $304,221.00 for park improvements that were to include a typical playground rather than the"water playground"now being approved. Current development costs are now projected to total $322,156.00 with 40%soft costs. The Finance Department has reviewed this additional expenditure and concurs that SID No. 492 can absorb this additional debt without exceeding their 4%debt limitation. These improvements are consistent with the Suburban Parks Master Plan and the Parks, Recreation and Public Property Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached Resolution.
