Attached is a Resolution authorizing the payment to Surrey Fire Safety House in the amount of
$46,384.00 for the purchase of a fire safety educational trailer for the Omaha Fire Department's
use.
The following bids were received, opened and tabulated on February 22, 2006.

The Surrey Fire Safety House will be purchased from the United States Assistance to Firefighters
Grant—Fire Prevention and Safety; Grant Award Number EMW-2004-FP-02245. The grant
period is from May 13, 2005, through May 12, 2006. There is no match required for this grant.
Account numbers for this purchase are Fund 12201, Organization 130614, Account Code 46617.
This fire simulator trailer will be used as a teaching tool for public education and training of
school children in fire prevention and escape, as well as other safety measures in emergency
situations.
The contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is
City policy, the Human Rights and Relations Director will review the contractor to ensure
compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.

WHEREAS, bids were received and opened on February 22, 2006, for the
purchase of one fire safety educational trailer for the Omaha Fire Department's use; and, ,.
WHEREAS, the bid of Surrey Fire Safety House, in the total amount of
$46,384.00 is the lowest and best bid received and meets specifications, attached hereto and by
this reference made a part hereof; and,
WHEREAS, the contractor has on file a current Annual Contract Compliance
Report Form (CC-1), and the Human Rights and Relations Director will monitor the contract to
ensure compliance with the contract compliance ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA;
THAT, the bid of Surrey Fire Safety House, in the total amount of$46,384.00 is
accepted as the lowest and best bid, and the Purchasing Agent is directed to issue a Purchase
Order in accordance with specifications for the purchase of one (1) fire safety educational trailer,
