The purpose of the attached Resolution is to suspend Memorial Park's closing hours to accommodate
the "Bank of the West Celebrates America Concert" on Friday, June 30, 2006.
The City Council approved on September 30, 1997,by Resolution No.2735,an 11:00 p.m.curfew at
Memorial Park. Your approval to suspend the curfew at Memorial Park between 11:00 p.m. on
Thursday, June 29, 2006 and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday July 1, 2006, to accommodate setup and tear
down of equipment is therefore requested.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 21-1, Omaha Municipal Code,
the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property Department established rules
regulating the use of parks within the city which were then approved by Resolution of the City
Council; and,
WHEREAS, one such rule established the hours during which Memorial Park
would be closed (from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.), which rule was approved by the City Council by
Resolution on September 30, 1997; and,
WHEREAS, Bank of the West would like to conduct a "Bank of the West
Celebrates America Concert" in Memorial Park on June 30, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the park closing hours be suspended
between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2006 and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1,
2006, to accommodate the setup and tear down of equipment for this event; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property
Department has approved the suspension of the park closing hours on those days only for this
event; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended approval of this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, between 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, June
29, 2006, and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2006, and on those dates only, Memorial Park, 6005
Underwood Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska, shall be open to accommodate setup and tear down of
equipment for a "Bank of the West Celebrates America Concert".
