Project Summary
Purpose
Cingular Wireless PCS currently provides digital wireless service to the City of Omaha
and the surrounding areas. In its ongoing efforts to provide seamless coverage,
Cingular Wireless has recognized the need for a wireless facility in the area of 1313
No.156th St. A facility in this area will greatly enhance the wireless coverage available
and provide the citizens of Omaha with the essential service wireless phones provide in
the areas of emergency reporting, communication and business efficiency. We
previously contacted the owners of the office buildings on the N-W corner of 156th and
Dodge Street; these buildings do not have sufficient elevation to provide coverage of the
area. The Church at the S-E corner of 156 and Dodge were also contacted and they
never responded to our contact. The shopping center at the N-E corner was also not
interested. Moving north from the site the terrain drops and that area will also not work.
This site was approved for this same application previously.
Proposal
Cingular Wireless PCS has leased a portion of land located at 1313 No. 156th Street on
the south side of the Millard Public School. The lease area is twenty six feet by twenty
four feet (26' X 24'). Currently the lease area would only accommodate the equipment
required by Cingular. Within the leased area Cingular Wireless will construct a 75 ft
stealth flagpole and an 11.5' by 20' pre-cast concrete shelter that will house the
transmitter cabinets and related equipment. This unmanned facility, once constructed,
will require very little traffic — scheduled maintenance every one to two months and
access for emergencies when required. Cingular Wireless will pay a very competitive
and negotiated rent to the Millard Public Schools for the lease area. All expenses for
construction, maintenance, repair, and utilities shall be borne by Cingular Wireless. No
additional landscaping required at this site.

WHEREAS,Section 55-884 of the Omaha Municipal Code,provides for the granting
of a Special Use Permit; and,
WHEREAS,an application has been submitted by Site Acquisition Consultants for a
Special Use Permit to allow Broadcast Tower in DR district with a waiver of Section 55-108,Height,
to allow a 75'tall silhouette tower, located at 1313 North 156th Street, Omaha, Nebraska; and,
WHEREAS,the City Planning Board has recommended that said permit be granted
pursuant to the application,a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit"A"and made a part hereof
by this reference,and the conditions set out in Exhibit"B"attached hereto and made a part hereof by

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT,the Special Use Permit application submitted by Site Acquisition Consultants
for permission to allow Broadcast Tower in DR district with a waiver of Section 55-108,Height,to
