Recently the Executive Director of the Omaha Convention and Visitor's Bureau requested that the.Publication Coordinator Classification be reduced from a management to a support staff function due to assigning some of the previous Publication Coordinator duties to the Tourism Marketing Manager. The employee in this Classification will therefore report to the Marketing Manager rather than directly to the Executive Director. Duties have been changed within the Classification. Description to reflect this change in reporting and also narrowing the scope of the duties focusing primarily ofi specific projects, e.g. Official Visitor's Guide, specific brochures and other print media. Based upon the reduction in duties in reporting within this classification, it is further requested that the pay level of Publication Coordinator for the Convention and Visitor's Bureau be reduced from 17:1 MC ($51,167.00 to $61,660.00) to 9.1 MC ($37,292.00 to $45,236.00). The changes to this Classification, including the pay scale, was submitted and approved by the Personnel Board at its September 27, 2007 meeting. AN ORDINANCE to amend Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code by amending the pay range for the employment classification entitled Publication Coordinator and to assign it to the 9.1MC salary level; to repeal Section 23 - 177 as heretofore existing; and to provide the effective date hereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. Due to the length of the affected ordinance, Omaha City Council Rule VII(B) requiring amending ordinances to recite the entire section is hereby waived solely for the purposes of this ordinance and only the lined out material to be deleted and the underlined material to be added shall be recited herein. Section 2. That part A. Classifications — Civilian Management, subpart Convention & Visitor's Bureau (03) of Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code is hereby amended by changing the salary range for the classification entitled Publication Coordinator, Code Number 0520, from 17.1MC ($51,167.00 to $61,660.00) to 9.1MC ($37,292.00 to $45,236.00), as follows: Code No. Class Title Pay Range 0520 Publications Coordinator 17.1MC 9.1MC Section 3.
