This resolution also authorizes and directs the Finance Director to give notice of redemption of said Bonds. We urge your favorable consideration of this resolution. WHEREAS, the City of Omaha, Nebraska (the "City") is preparing to issue not-to-exceed $42,000,000 aggregate principal amount of its Special Obligation Refunding Bonds (Riverfront Redevelopment Project), Taxable Series 2008 and Special Tax Revenue Refunding Redevelopment Bonds, Taxable Series 2008 (collectively, the "Bonds"), for the purpose of providing funds, together with other available moneys, to refund the City's outstanding $32,000,000 Special Obligation Bonds (Riverfront Redevelopment Project), Series 2002B and $1,830,000 Special Tax Revenue Redevelopment Bonds, Series 2002B respectively (collectively, the "Outstanding Bonds"); and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to direct the Finance Director of the City to give notice of the redemption on March 25, 2008 (or such other date not later than September 11, 2008 as the Finance Director shall determine) of the Outstanding Bonds and to make other necessary determinations as hereinafter set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs the Finance Director to sign a notice of redemption with respect to the Outstanding Bonds to be redeemed, file said signed notice with the Paying Agent for such Outstanding Bonds and with the Nebraska State Auditor of Public Accounts and mail said signed notice, postage prepaid, to each registered owner of Outstanding Bonds to be redeemed at the addresses which appear on the registration books for such Outstanding Bonds.
