The purpose of the attached Resolution is to suspend Memorial Park's closing hours to
accommodate the 0! What A Concert event, presented by InfoUSA, KETV and The. City
Weekly, on Saturday, July 12, 2008.
The City Council approved on September 30, 1997, by Resolution No. 2735, an 11:00 p.m.
curfew at Memorial Park. Your approval to suspend the curfew at Memorial Park between 11:00
p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008, to accommodate security,
setup and tear down of equipment is therefore requested.

their time, effort, expertise, and promotional background to our entire Sports Scene. Many in our
City feel this is one of the moat active groups in our Community. Through the Greater Omaha
Sports Committee many focal high-school graduates are honored for their Achievements in their
Sport, as well as, their Superior Achievements in the Classroom plus the involvement in various other
sports activities for the Omaha Community.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 21-1, Omaha Municipal:'Code,
the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property Depaitiuent established• rules
regulating the use of parks within the city which were then approved by Resolution of the City
Council; and,
WHEREAS, one such rule established the hours during which Memorial Park
would be closed(from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.), which rule was approved by the City Council by
Resolution on September 30, 1997; and,
WHEREAS, InfoUSA, KETV and The City Weekly would like to sponsor an 0!
What A Concert event in Memorial Park on July 12, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the park closing hours be suspended
between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 13,
2008, to accommodate the security, setup and tear-down for this event; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property
Department has approved the suspension of the park closing hours on those days only for this
event; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended approval of this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11,
2008 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008, Memorial Park, 6005 Underwood Avenue,
Omaha, Nebraska, shall be open to accommodate security, setup and tear down for the 0! What
A Concert event sponsored by InfoUSA, KETV and The City Weekly.
