Appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to plan the organization and delivery of HIV
services funded by Part A of the Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act. This Act is a federal law that
funds medical care and supportive services for disadvantaged people living with HIV.
Assume a leadership role on the Membership Committee (Human Resources & Recruitment standards),
helping to create dynamic strategies to recruit diverse participation from the community, such as revising
the membership application and interview questions to gain better information from prospective
participants. Lead the development and implementation of Human Resource training activities for new
and existing members, including the creation of a survey regarding member satisfaction and personal
development needs. Revise the orientation process for new members to align with human resource
standards and council codes. Actively participates in the Council's annual prioritization of services and
allocations of funds ($6 Million).

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 4.04 of the Omaha City Charter created and established a
Human Rights and Relations Board; and,
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Human Rights and Relations Board due to the
resignation Ruby Asugha, whose term will expire on November 13, 2009; and,
WHEREAS,Section 4.04 of the Omaha City Charter empowers the Mayor to appoint
candidates to be confirmed by the City Council as members of the Human Rights and Relations
Board; and,
WHEREAS, Mayor Mike Fahey, has appointed John D. Hasna as a member of the
Human Rights and Relations Board, to complete the term of Ruby Asugha, which expires on
November 13, 2009.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

THAT,the nomination and appointment by Mayor Mike Fahey of John D.Hasna as a
