TAX RATE CERTIFICATION FOR THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF OMAHA
In Accordance with State Statute 77-3443, presented here today is a Resolution for your
consideration certifying the tax rate for the Transit Authority of the City of Omaha.
Resolution
Certifies to the Douglas County Clerk a property tax rate of two and three hundred six
thousandths cents (2.306 cents)per $100 of actual value on behalf of the Transit Authority of the
City of Omaha.

receipt of the Congressional Medal of Honor for "conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life",
and his interest in protecting the environmental and economic future of the Missouri River as well as his
success in obtaining $18 million dollars in federal funding for the Pedestrian Bridge project; and,
WHEREAS, it is a fitting and proper tribute to Bob Kerrey to name this bridge after him; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended approval of the Committee's proposed name for the
Pedestrian Bridge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Missouri River Trail Crossing Bridge connecting the
Cities of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska across the Missouri River will henceforth be named "The
Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge".

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 13-1821 and 77.3443, Revised
Statutes of Nebraska, 1943, as amended by Revised Statutes, Supplement 1986, the Transit
Authority of the City of Omaha Board certified to the City Council of the City of Omaha a tax
rate for the year 2009 to assist in the defraying of all character of expenses of the Authority; and,
THAT, the City of Omaha and Douglas County each authorizes under their
respective subdivision levy allocation one-half of the Transit Authority of the City of Omaha tax
rate; and,
THAT, the City Council of the City of Omaha hereby certifies to the County
Clerk of Douglas County, Nebraska, one-half of the number of cents or fraction thereof which
the Transit Authority of the City of Omaha Board desires to be levied on each One Hundred
Dollars ($100) of actual valuation upon all taxable property within the corporate limits of the
City of Omaha for the year 2009 for the purpose as follows:
2.306 cents (two and three-hundred six thousandths cents) to assist in the defraying of all
character of expenses of the Authority.
