Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizingthe issuance of a purchase order to Neuman
Equipment Company for the purchase of a remote tank gauging and monitoring equipment
which will be used at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 15705 Harlan
Lewis Road, Bellevue. The new tank gauging equipment supplied by Neuman Equipment
Company will be compatible with the current equipment used by the City.
The Public Works Department recommends that bidding procedures be waived in accordance
with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956 for the purchase of unique or non-
competitive items.
The quoted cost of$13,835 for the new remote tank gauging and monitoring equipment will be
paid from the Sewer Revenue Fund 21121, Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
Operations Organization 116611, year 2008 expenditure.
Neuman Equipment Company has filed the annual contract compliance form CC-1 with the
Human Rights and Relations Department.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department, Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
needs to install remote tank gauging and monitoring equipment for the underground fuel tanks at
the plant located at 15705 Harland Lewis Road, Bellevue; and,
WHEREAS, new remote tank gauging and monitoring equipment must be the same as
existing monitoring equipment used by the City for compatibility reasons, it is recommended that
the bidding procedures be waived in accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of
1956 for the purchase of unique or non-competitive items and that the tank gauging equipment
quoted by Neuman Equipment Company be purchased for use at the Papillion Creek Wastewater
Treatment Plant; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of the new tank gauging and monitoring equipment as described in
the attached quotation from Neuman Equipment Company is $13,835 which will be paid from
the Sewer Revenue Fund 21121, Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations
Organization 116611, year 2008 expenditure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, a Purchase Order for Neuman Equipment
Company to provide new remote tank gauging and monitoring equipment to be used in the fuel
tanks at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, is hereby approved, in accordance with
Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956 for the purchase of unique or non-competitive
items.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay $13,835, for the new remote tank
gauging and monitoring equipment to be used at the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
