Motorola Communications has provided Nebraska State Contract pricing#11182 OC. The modems will be funded by a grant award to the City in the amount of$6,000,000 from the U.S.Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing services, COPS Interoperable Communications Technology Grant, approved by City Council on December 7, 2004, and detailed in the grant proposal, being the City of Omaha/Douglas County/Southwest Iowa Consortium Interoperable Communications Technology Equipment Project COPS FY 2004 Interoperable Communications Technology Proposal. The initial term of the Grant has been extended to September 30, 2008 and may be extended by written agreement of the Parties not to exceed ten years. The City agrees to administer this Grant in the total amount of $8,009,522,000. The Federal grant award amount is $6,000,000 with the City's Cost Share Match provided through the Douglas County Bond Issue not to exceed $955,000; and the County of Pottawattamie,Iowa Cost Share Match of$1,054,522. Funds.of $34,085.70 have been appropriated in the Year 2008, Fund 12153, Organization 130772, Account 44113 Microcomputers and Accessories. WHEREAS, Motorola has provided Nebraska State Contract pricing #11182 OC; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended such purchase of the modems.
