Mike Fahey,Mayor Public Works Director Honorable President and Members of the City Council, Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving a contract extension with Spectracom, Inc. d.b.a. River City Recycling for the receipt and disposal of rubbish received from Omaha residents. The original contract was approved by City Council by Ordinance No. 37158 on September 27, 2005. The contract provided for a three-year term and two additional one-year extensions, with the approval of the City Council. The Public Works Department recommends an extension of thecontract. This contract extension will run from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009. The estimated amount for the one year extension is $50,000 and will be paid from the General Fund 11111, Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Organization 116321, year 2009 expenditure,subject to.availability of funds. River City Recycling was awarded a contract, for the receipt and disposal of trash from Omaha residents, by Ordinance No. 37158 adopted by the City Council on September 27, 2005; and, • WHEREAS, this contract provided for an initial term of three-years, through December 31, 2008, and includes provisions for two one-year extensions at the option of the City; and, WHEREAS, the Public Works Department recommends a one year extension of this contract from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009; and, WHEREAS, the cost of this extension estimated to be $50,000 will be paid from the General Fund 11111, Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Organization 116321, year 2009 expenditure, subject to the availability of funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, subject to the availability of funds, the contract with Spectracom, Inc, d.b.a. River City Recycling, for receipt and disposal of trash from Omaha residents, is hereby extended from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.
