right-oi-way in Area 4 Mowing, being 90th Street west to 192nd Street from Dodge Street
south io the Harrison Street in the amount of $73,200.00 for a two year period ending
December 31, 2009 with a sole option by the City to extend it for two additional years;
provid ng for the payments from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with
Sectio 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956 as amended; to authorize the Purchasing

BE IT ORDA ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
Sectio i 1. That the bid from Blade Masters for grounds maintenance mowing of
right-of-way i Area 4 Mowing, being 90th Street west to 192nd Street from Dodge Street south to
the Harrison treet in the amount of$73,200.00 for a two year period ending December 31, 2009
with a sole op ion by the City to extend it for two additional years is hereby accepted.
Sectio 2. That payments for grounds maintenance mowing of right-of-way in Area 4
Mowing, bei g 90th Street west to 192nd Street from Dodge Street south to the Harrison Street
shall be mad from appropriations of more than one year in accord with Section 5.17 of the
Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha of 1956, as amended.
Section 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to make payments in accordance

Re: Right of way mowing bids
The City opene bids on November 21 for right of way mowing. There were 8 separate.contracts and
we received bi s from 6 separate contractors. The Contracts are for two years with the option for an
additional two y ars all at the same price.We have three low bidders; Blade Masters, Total Lawn Care,
and US Groun Maintenance.
Blade Masters nd Total Lawn Care have provided mowing services for the City of Omaha in the past.
Their work perf rmance has been good and they are reputable contractors. US Ground Maintenance
is new to the City. They provided me a client list which I reviewed. I contacted their clients and received
good reference. Their largest client was the US Air Force at Offutt AFB. They mow approximately 740
acres a month!at Offutt. Their small client is a bank with 7 branch locations. I have reviewed US
Ground Maintenances equipment and staffing and feel they are capable of providing the service we
require.
I would recom end that we award contracts as follows.
• Area 1 Blade Masters at an annual bid of $37,800
• Area 2 US Ground Maintenance at an annual bid of$39,227.40
• Area 3 Blade Master at an annual bid of$35,400
• Area ' Blade Masters at an annual bid of$73,200
• Area - Blade Masters at an annual bid of $34,800
• Storz- orth Freeway-Sorensen Blade Masters at an annual bid of$48,800
• W Doge-Maple St Total Lawn Care at an annual bid of$24,600
