The attached Resolution is submitted for your consideration.
The. Resolution consents to the possession and consumption of beer and wine on City property
during a client appreciation event at Rosenblatt Stadium on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, from 4:00
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event is being held by the law firm of Cline Williams, Wright, Johnson, &
Oldfather, LLP. Admission to the event will be free and by invitation only, not open to the
public.
Alcohol will not be sold during this reception and no special designated liquor license is
necessary. However, because the event will be held on public property other than a park, it is
necessary that the City Council expressly consent to possession and consumption of alcohol on
the property.

(3) The Contractor shall send to each labor union or representative of workers with
which he has a collective bargaining agreement or other contract or understanding
a notice advising the labor union or worker's representative of the Contractor's
commitments under the Equal Employment Opportunity Clause of the City and
shall post copies of the notice in conspicuous places available to employees and
applicants for employment.
(4) The Contractor shall furnish to the contract compliance officer all Federal forms
containing the information and reports required by the Federal government for
Federal contracts under Federal rules and regulations, and including the
information required by Sections 10-192 to 10-194, inclusive, and shall permit
reasonable access to his records. Records accessible to the Contract Compliance
Officer shall be those which are related to Paragraphs (1) through (7) of this
subsection and only after reasonable notice is given the Contractor. The purpose
for this provision is to provide for investigation to ascertain compliance with the
program provided for herein.

support of this request, I submit the following information for the City Council's
consideration.

2009, between 4:00pm arid 7:30pm, before the baseball game between the
University of Nebraska and Creighton University. This event will take place in a
tent constructed in a parking lot on the grounds of Rosenblatt Stadium, located
at 1202 Bert Murphy Avenue, Admission to the event will be free and by
• invitation only, and not open to the public. Approximately 150 guests are
expected to attend the event. During the event, Cline Williams would like to serve •
beer free of charge to its guests of legal age.
I understand from the City Clerk's Office that while a temporary liquor
license is not required, Cline Williams must receive the approval of the City
Council in order to serve alcoholic beverages for this event. We therefore
respectfully solicit the Council's approval.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 53-186 of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act provides that
persons may not consume alcoholic liquors upon City property without the authorization of the
local governing body; and,
WHEREAS, Section 21-14 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides that no
intoxicating liquor can be possessed or consumed on any public property area owned or operated
by the City, except in such areas as may be designated by Resolution of the City Council, which
have a license to sell alcohol, or which receive a beer and wine park permit;and,
WHEREAS, the law firm of Cline, Williams, Wright, Johnson & Oldfather, LLP,
has requested permission for guests to consume beer and wine at a client appreciation event on
May 12, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the City-owned property at Rosenblatt Stadium.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the City of Omaha consents to the possession and consumption of beer
and wine on the City-owned property at Rosenblatt Stadium, 1202 Bert Murphy Drive, Omaha,
Nebraska, by guests at a client appreciation event hosted by the law firm of Cline, Williams,
Wright, Johnson& Oldfather, LLP, on May 12, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
