Transmitted herewith is a Resolution authorizing the issuance of a purchase order to Bert Gurney
& Associates, Inc. for rebuilding a large storm water pump for the Storz Expressway Storm
Water Pump Station, located at 304 Hartman Avenue. The storm water pumps were installed in
1985 and have not been rebuilt since the initial installation.
The Public Works Department recommends that bidding procedures be waived in accordance
with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956 for the purchase of unique or non-
competitive items. Bert Gurney & Associates, Inc. is the local representative for the
manufacturers of these pumps. The cost for rebuilding the storm water pump is $126,450.00,
which will be paid from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122, 2009 Issue Environmental Bond
Organization 117214.
Bert Gurney and Associates, Inc. has filed the annual contract compliance form CC-1 with the
Human Rights and Relations Department.

One (1) Lot Repair Services from Fairbanks Morse Pump Service Group as
outlined bat"ow:
• Send Two (2) Technicians with equipment to remove above
pump and load for delivery back to Fairbanks Morse repair
facility.
• Finish disassembly of pumping unit.
• Perform a complete inspection of components checking to see
that they meet Fairbanks Morse Standards.
• Beadblast reusable components as needed.
• Clean and reuse thrust collars.
• Clean, polish and check for straightness all line shafting and top
shaft.
• Machine discharge bowl and intermediate bowl to accept a liner.
• Machine new liners, install and finish machine to proper size.
• Weld vane tip outside diameter to be able to machine back to
original size.
• Handwork I Polish I Reform vane tips as needed (minor
straightening.
• Dynamic balance propeller to Fairbanks Morse Standards.

• Provide the following new components for assembly; suction bowl
bearing, intermediate bowl bearings, discharge bowl bearing, top
discharge bowl tube connector bearing, new bowl shaft, new keys,
new sand collar, new snap rings, New enclosing tubes, new tube
connector bearings, new shaft couplings, top tube connector
bearing, top tube gasket and hardware as needed for complete
pump build-up.
• Assemble bowl assembly.
• Coat the outside of the bowl assembly, the inside and outside of
column pipe with two-part epoxy paint suitable for potable water.
Coat the inside of the discharge head with the same epoxy coating
and coat the outside of the discharge head with standard Fairbanks
Morse enamel coating.
• Load for delivery and deliver to Customers location.
• Install pump and gearbox, etc.
• Test operate pumping unit, if possible.
ITEMS NOT INCLUDED:
•
Sales or use taxes of any kind or type.
Installation labor, service or supervision.
Anchor bolts, brackets, fasteners, lubricants, controls, gauges, wiring or any other
item of supply unless specifically mentioned in the preceding scope of supply.
SHIPMENT SCHEDULE:
SHIPMENT can be scheduled for 6-8 weeks after receipt of approved submittal and
written notice to proceed with manufacturing. It is estimated that removal can be
scheduled with 2_3 weeks of receipt of a purchase order.
TERMS OF PAYMENT:
NET 30 DAYS, 1.5% per month late payment charge on any unpaid balance.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE:
Per attached BERT GURNEY& ASSOCIATES CONDITIONS. No monies or
contingencies have been included for acceptance of different or additional Terms &
Conditions of Sale.

CLARIFICATIONS:
A} Testing after pump is installed will include a general operational test
provided there is sufficient liquid to operate the pump. Any ancillaries
required to perform the operational testing are the responsibility of the
purchaser.
B) Repairs or parts not quoted in the above scope but found to be necessary
will be identified and quoted separately. Warranties are contingent upon
inclusion of repairs or parts replacement deemed necessary by Seller.
Scope and pricing assume the pump is in reusable condition with repair or
modification outside of the scope outlined above.

INC.{1} BERT GURNEY& ASSOCIATES, is the "Company" and you are the
"Purchaser" referred to in the terms and "CONDITIONS".
{2) Purchaser's terms and conditions inconsistent with those set forth herein will not be
recognized and will be of no effect unless agreed to in writing by the Company.
{3} This proposal is limited to the quantities and items specifically mentioned and listed.
The right to correct all typographical or clerical errors in prices or specifications is
reserved.
{4) Unless otherwise specified, prices are F.O.B. point of shipment and are subject to
change unless orders are placed with the Company within thirty (30) days from date
of Proposal.
{5) The amount of any applicable tax or other government charge upon the production,
sale, shipment and/or use of the goods covered by this proposal shall be added to
the price and shall be paid by the Purchaser.
{6) The Company reserves the right to assign to its Suppliers all or part of the material or

pro rata payments for partial shipments.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha is operating the Storz Expressway Storm Water Pump
Station, located at 304 Hartman Avenue, to drain and remove large quantities of rainwater from
an area north of Eppley Airfield; and,
WHEREAS, an existing storm water pump requires rebuilding and the local
representative for the manufacturer, Bert Gurney&Associates, Inc. is the sole source provider of
parts and service for these pumps, it is recommended that the bidding procedures be waived in
accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter er of 1956 for the purchase of unique or
non-competitive items and that the parts and labor to rebuild the storm water pump will be
supplied by the manufactures repair facility according too the attached documentation; and,
WHEREAS, the cost of rebuilding the storm water pump for the Storz Expressway Storm
Water Pump Station is $126,450.00, which will be paid from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122,
2009 Issue Environmental Bond Organization 117214.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE'IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the Purchase Order to Bert Gurney& Associates,
Inc. for rebuilding a storm water pump for the Storzl Expressway Storm Water Pump Station,
located at 304 Hartman Avenue, in accordance with Section 5.16 of the Home Rule Charter of
1956 for the purchase of unique or non-competitive items is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay Bert Gurney & Associates, Inc. for
rebuilding a storm water pump for the Storz Expressway Storm Water Pump Station
