The attached resolution approves the contract with Prairie Construction Company for
OPW 51521, being roof, skylight, and exterior cleaning at the W. Dale Clark Library located at
215 South 15th Street.
The following bids were received on October 7, 2009. A detailed bid tabulation is attached.
Contractor Total Bid
PRAIRIE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY $496,000.00 (LOW BID),
D.R. Anderson Constructors Co. $512,500.00
Heimes Corp. $553,800.00
The contractor has on file a current Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Rights and Relations Department will review the contractor to ensure
compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of OPW 51521 from the Library Facilities
Capital Fund 13499, W. Dale Clark Library Construction Organization 117026, year 2009
expenditures.
The Public Works Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Prairie Construction
Company in the amount of $496,000.00, being the lowest and best bid received, and requests
your consideration and approval of this resolution.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: 4
WHEREAS, bids were submitted on October 7, 2009 for OPW 51521 being- roof,
skylight, and exterior cleaning at the W. Dale Clark Library located at 215 South 15th Street; and,
WHEREAS, Prairie Construction Company submitted a bid of $496,000.00, being the
lowest and best bid received for OPW 51521.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the contract with Prairie Construction Company
for OPW 51521, being roof, skylight, and exterior cleaning at the W. Dale Clark Library located
at 215 South 15th Street in the amount of$496,000.00 is hereby approved; and that the Finance
Department is authorized to pay this cost from the Library Facilities Capital Fund 13499, W.
Dale Clark Library Construction Organization 117026, year 2009 expenditures.
