Attached is a Resolution authorizing the City of Omaha to accept a grant award in the amount of
$14,582.00 from the State of Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles,Nebraska Office of
Highway Safety. This grant will provide direct reimbursement for overtime salaries and mileage
for Omaha Police Department's participation in Selective Traffic Overtime Enforcement aimed
at reducing fatal,accidents in the Omaha metro area. There is no match required during the
project period of April 1, 2010 to April 30, 2010.
There is no required match for this grant.

To utilize selective traffic enforcement to reduce fatal accidents below the number recorded in 2009. We also want to reduce
serious injury accidents by 5%from last year.

This Mini-Grant Contract is financed one reimbursement basis. TM applicant must first be approved for the activity by the NOH&then incur
the expenses(pay the bills)in order to be reimbursed for the federal shore of the Mini-Grant Contract. At the conclusion of the overtime
activity.the applicant must request reimbursement from the NOHS and provide the following supporting documentation?
1) Invoice-from the applicant to the ROHS.
2) Copies of the pre-and post publicity announcing the overtime enforcement activity.
3) Activity Report end Project Summary.
4) Total rules driven(if mileage reimbursement is requested).
5) Provide the name,number of hours worked,regular and overtime hourly rates for each officer.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS,the Omaha Police Department has made application to seek funding for direct
reimbursement for overtime salaries and mileage for Omaha Police Department participation in
Selective Traffic Overtime Enforcement, aimed at reducing fatality accidents in the Omaha metro
area, and;
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, Nebraska Office of Highway
Safety has awarded a grant,NOHS# 10-33,in the amount of fourteen thousand five hundred eighty-
two dollars and zero cents($14,582.00)to the Omaha Police Department;to be used over a project
period extending from April 1, 2010 to April 30, 2010; and;
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Mayor and it is in the best interest of the City of
Omaha and the residents thereof to accept this grant award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OMAHA:
THAT as recommended by the Mayor,the application and grant award to the Omaha Police

This Mini-Grant Contract is financed one reimbursement basis. TM applicant must first be approved for the activity by the NOH&then incur
the expenses(pay the bills)in order to be reimbursed for the federal shore of the Mini-Grant Contract. At the conclusion of the overtime
