The purpose of the attached Resolution is to suspend Spring Lake Park's closing hours to
accommodate the Osorio Family Circus being held on Friday, August 20; Saturday, August 21
and Sunday August 22, 2010.
Pursuant to Section 21-1 of the Omaha Municipal Code, city parks are closed, daily, from 11:00
p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Your approval to suspend the curfew at Spring Lake Park between 11:00 p.m.
on Thursday,August 19, 2010 and 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, to accommodate
setup and tear-down of equipment and security, for this event, is therefore requested.

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:

WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property
Department is authorized pursuant to Section 21-1 of the Omaha Municipal Code to e's`tablish
rules regulating the use of parks within the City of Omaha which become binding`provisions of
the Omaha Municipal Code upon approval by resolution of the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, various rules have been so established including rules specifying
opening and closing hours; and,
WHEREAS, the Osorio Family Circus would like to hold an event on Friday,
August 20; Saturday,August 21 and Sunday August 22, 2010; and,
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the park closing hours be suspended
between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 and 5:00 a.m. on Monday,
August 23, 2010, to accommodate the setup, tear-down and security for the scheduled events;
and,
WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Public Property
Depaitiuent has approved the suspension of the park closing hours on those days only for this
event; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on
Thursday, August 19, 2010 and 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, and on those dates only,
Spring Lake Park, 4020 Hoctor Blvd, Omaha, Nebraska, shall be open to accommodate setup,
tear-down, and security for the Osorio Family Circus.
