The attached Resolution approves the contract with Mark VII Enterprises, Inc. for OPW 51516A,
being I-wall temporary closure structures pavement replacement and permanent closure structure
located from Rick's Boat Yard to 500 feet south of the I-480 bridge.
The following bids were received on September 29, 2010. A detailed bid tabulation is attached.
Contractor Base Bid
Neal Construction $19,450.00 (Bid Withdrawn)
MARK VII ENTERPRISES, INC. $40,345.00 (RECOMMENDED BID)
Swain Construction, Inc. $91,860.00
The contractor has on file a current Contract Compliance Report Form (CC-1). As is City
policy, the Human Rights and Relations Department will review the contractor to ensure
compliance with the Contract Compliance Ordinance.
The Finance Department is authorized to pay the cost of OPW 51516A from the 2006
Environment Fund 13122, 2009 Issue Environmental Bonds Organization 117214, year 2010
expenditures.
The Public Works Department recommends the acceptance of the bid from Mark VII .
Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $40,345.00 being the lowest and best bid received, and
requests your consideration and approval of this Resolution.

WHEREAS, bids were submitted on September 29, 2010 for OPW 51516A, being...I-wall

WHEREAS, Mark VII Enterprises, Inc. submitted a bid of$40,345.00, being the lowest
and best bid received for OPW 51516A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, the contract with Mark VII Enterprises, Inc. for
OPW 51516A, being I-wall temporary closure structures pavement replacement and permanent
closure structure located from Rick's Boat Yard to 500 feet south of the I-480 bridge in the
amount of$40,345.00 is hereby approved; and, that the Finance Department is authorized to pay
this cost from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122, 2009 Issue Environmental Bonds
Organization 117214,year 2010 expenditures.
