Transmitted herewith is a Resolution approving three Change Orders for OPW 51705, being the
West Maple Bioswale Project, located near 166th Street and Maple Street. Resolution No. 1174
on October 20, 2009 approved Thompson Construction as low bidder for this project. These
change orders authorize expenses for additional work needed for the final stabilization of the
embankment and for right-of-way restoration, which were not anticipated and included in the
original bid specifications.
Thompson Construction has agreed to perform these services for an additional total of
$37,319.00. The attached Change Orders contain the details of the additional work. All other
provisions of the original contract shall remain in full force and effect. The costs incurred will
be paid from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122, 2011 Issue Environment Bond Organization
117216.
The Public Works Department requests your consideration and approval of the attached
Resolution and Change Order.

the above-mentioned project. The extra work required the use of an excavator and

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Thompson Construction was awarded a contract by City Council Resolution
No. 1174 on October 20, 2009, to construct OPW 51705, being the West Maple Bioswale
Project, located near 166th Street and Maple Street; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to add items not originally anticipated in the specifications
for the project with regard to final embankment stabilization and right-of-way restoration; and,
WHEREAS, Thompson Construction has agreed to perform the services listed in the
attached Change Order Nos. 1 through 3, which by this reference is made a part hereof, for a
total additional cost of$37,319.00, which will be paid from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122,
2011 Issue Environment Bond Organization 117216.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
THAT, as recommended by the Mayor, Change Order Nos. 1 through 3 for Thompson
Construction to construct the necessary modifications to OPW 51705 being the West Maple
Bioswale project, located near 166th Street and Maple Street, are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT, the Finance Department is authorized to pay an additional $37,319.00 for these
changes from the 2006 Environment Fund 13122, 2011 Issue Environment Bond Organization
