applicant for the Public Health Prevention Health Fund Community Transformation Grant,
Category B: Implementation; Funding Opportunity Number: CDC=RFA-DP11-1103PPHF11.
The Douglas County Health Department has a long, successful history of acquiring and
implementing grants, and the City of Omaha wishes to authorize the Douglas County Health
Department as its Bona Fide Agent and therefore official applicant for this grant opportunity.

the implementation of CAD Standards companywide
for HDR. This initiative was based upon the National CAD Standard and
allowed individuals working on projects who were involved in drawing
production to interactively collaborate on projects across geographic distances
using MicroStation and AutoCAD platforms.

Leadership Development
HDR recognizes the value of its project managers and business unit managers
being able to execute project success as well as leading others in support of
corporate objectives. Mr. McPherson has designed and delivered a number of
leadership development programs and courses. The following provides a
summary of his involvement in such initiatives:
HDR Leadership Institute
Designed and delivered a company-wide leadership development program for
HDR leaders. This program is comprised of two modules: Leadership and
Management. Each module is delivered over a period of three days. Key topics
covered are: Situational Leadership, emotional intelligence, change
management, conflict management, employee relations, and more.
Business Etiquette Seminar
Designed and facilitated the business etiquette workshop nationally to HDR
leaders. This seminar builds skills for a variety of business and social
situations; participants identify manners, behaviors, and responses that
enhance their professionalism.
New Employee Onboarding and Mentoring
Developed and implemented new employee onboarding and mentoring
programs for companywide implementation in each HDR department. These
programs were developed to increase employee retention, productivity and
provide positive employee starts.
Instructor, University of Nebraska -Lincoln
Served as a guest instructor for the Construction Engineering Technology
students enrolled in the Personnel and Supervisory Methods course at the
University of Nebraska Lincoln, Peter Kiewit Institute.

WHEREAS, the Douglas County Health Department has a long and successful history of
acquiring and implementing grants and has proven to be a leader in addressing the community's
health; and,
WHEREAS, the Douglas County Health Department has the opportunity to submit a
grant application for Funding Opportunity Number: CDC-RFA-DP11-1103PPHF11: Public
Health Prevention Health Fund: Community Transformation Grant, Category B: Implementation;
and,
WHEREAS, for purposes of the aforementioned grant opportunity the City Council of
the City of Omaha, Douglas County,Nebraska, desires to formally designate the Douglas County
Health Department as its Bona Fide Agent and therefore the official applicant for the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
