Program Description
Northpoint Nebraska
Proposed Location: 7215 Ontario Street, Omaha, NE 68124
Who We Are
Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC is based out of Meridian, Idaho and is the parent
company to Northpoint Nebraska, Northpoint Recovery, Ashwood Recovery, The
Evergreen at Northpoint and Northpoint Nebraska. This functional program description is
for Northpoint Nebraska.
Northpoint Nebraska, LLC (“Northpoint”) will provide residential treatment for individuals
with Substance Use Disorders. Recognizing that substance use disorders are also often
accompanied by mental health disorders, Northpoint will provide mental health services as
well. Northpoint offers acute detoxification and intensive inpatient treatment to males and
females, age 18 and up. Northpoint Nebraska will have capacity for 44 patients (22
bedrooms).
Northpoint facilities are Joint Commission accredited and in good standing with the state
licensing board. The application for Joint Commission accreditation for the Omaha facility
(Northpoint Nebraska) will be submitted prior to opening, and a survey is expected to
occur approximately 45-60 days after opening.
Northpoint Nebraska is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week treatment facility offering
detoxification and intensive inpatient treatment services. Detoxification is provided with
full medical oversight supervised by the Medical Director. Northpoint Nebraska has a
physician, mid-level providers, RN’s, recovery technicians, and counselors who provide
direct care to patients. Patients of Northpoint Nebraska are privately funded (self-pay or
private insurance). No state or federal funding is accepted.
Northpoint has strict policies and guidelines in place to ensure patient safety and
wellbeing. Safety items are referenced throughout this document, as well as in the attached
plans and policy/procedure manual, Infection Control Plan, Performance Improvement
Plan, Emergency Management Plan, Utility Management Plan and detoxification protocols.
Northpoint Nebraska provides a restrictive environment to prevent the use of abused
substances and provides highly structured and comprehensive substance abuse treatment.
Northpoint Nebraska promotes abstinence from substance use and promotes pro-social
behaviors to effect a global change in a patient’s lifestyle, attitude, and values. As patients
heal physically, they become more deeply involved in their own choice to recover and
change their life. Northpoint is dedicated to providing a safe, therapeutic environment
where those struggling with addiction can build a foundation for their recovery and gain a
clear vision of hope.
Northpoint’s business definition is: “We deliver a safe, supportive environment for
abstinence-based treatment of addiction and improved mental health.” Northpoint behaves
by living the core values of: humble, heart, conviction, inspired.
Scope of Project
Northpoint Nebraska is submitting floor plans, and policies for a 19,228 square foot
building, which will be remodeled into a residential and detoxification treatment facility.
This construction project will not affect patients or staff, as the facility will open upon
completion of the construction.
Clientele Served
Northpoint Recovery will serve adult (18 and older) male and female chemically dependent
clients, as defined by the DSM-5 criteria, and based on patient placement criteria. Patients
often have a mental health diagnosis to accompany their substance use disorder diagnosis.
The primary diagnosis treated at Northpoint is substance use disorders, however mental
health professionals will be on staff to provide services for those patients with a mental
health diagnosis.
Clients will reside in the facility from the time of admission until their discharge date.
Family will be allowed to visit patients during designated visiting hours. Family may come
to the facility on non-visitation days for scheduled family therapy sessions. Family visits
will be allowed in designated areas of the facility.
As discussed in the Emergency Management Plan (EMP), Northpoint Nebraska has taken
appropriate measures to handle potential emergencies or disasters. Evacuation route
maps will be placed conspicuously throughout the facility with exits clearly marked; in the
event an evacuation is necessary. All staff receive ongoing training on emergency
management training policies, evacuation procedures, emergency techniques, disaster
drills, fire drills, emergency supplies and communication during an emergency. Emergency
supplies (food, water and other supplies) are maintained on site, in the event of an
emergency. Northpoint Nebraska will have transfer agreements in place with nearby
hospitals, in the event patients need to be sent to a hospital due to an emergency
prohibiting patients to be at the facility.
Clientele Risk Factors
Patients will be closely monitored for worsening detoxification symptoms and will be sent
to a higher level of care if symptoms become too acute to handle in-house. Patients will
have ongoing contact with nursing and counseling staff to ensure no suicidal ideation is
present, or that the patient has not had a drastic shift in mood or behavior. Patients
typically experience varying moods and multiple family and interpersonal stressors. Staff
is acutely aware of this and remains actively involved to assist clients in time of stress and
anxiousness, to prevent a client from wanting to leave AMA/ACA, which would typically
result in resuming drug/alcohol use.
Patients will be educated on ADL’s, proper handwashing techniques, medication and any
other infection control or individualized issue that directly pertains to them. Regular
cleaning and disinfecting of the building will occur. The facility will have a monthly
inspection to look for any areas of risk, potential infection control issues, test egress
lighting and look for other routine maintenance needs.
Equipment
Northpoint Nebraska will have minimal medical equipment.
The nursing staff will draw blood for testing from patients, which will be adequately and
properly stored in a designated medical refrigerator. A centrifuge will be used to prepare
blood samples prior to going to the lab. The blood draw equipment will be maintained in
the nursing station, as will the medical refrigerator and centrifuge.
The facility will have vitals machines, which will receive routine maintenance, and staff will
be adequately trained on its use. The vital machines will be housed in both the nursing
station and medical room. The machines will be on wheels, allowing for easy movement
throughout the facility, when needed. Machines will be disinfected after each use.
The facility will have biohazard bags, and a contracted company for pick up. Biohazard
bags will be stored in the nursing station, and bag with contaminated items will be in the
dirty linen room until picked up. Dirty linens will also be stored in the dirty linen room,
which will be only accessible to staff. No clean items will be in the dirty linen room.
Services Offered
Northpoint offers a variety of addiction therapy methods to provide patients with the help
they need to fully recover. Northpoint utilizes a holistic approach to allow patients to heal
mentally, physically, and spiritually. Supportive emotional, cognitive, psychological
services and around the clock supervision are offered. Daily therapeutic and activity
groups are offered (sample schedule attached). Groups provided to patients include:
Morning Goal Group start the day with inspirational readings paired with a check-
in discussion focused on daily goals and ways patients can assist in holding each
other accountable.
Psychoeducational Group uses techniques to remove barriers to comprehending
and digesting complex and emotionally loaded information to assist patients in the
recovery process. Education groups embrace several complementary theories and
models of clinical practice and include topics such as: relapse prevention, discharge
planning, coping skills, identifying/understanding triggers, communication
techniques, family dynamics, setting boundaries, relapse prevention, early recovery
skills, codependency and goal setting.
Process Group provides positive peer support and pressure to abstain from
negative thought patterns, behaviors, and plans. Process group members provide
feedback concerning values and abilities of themselves and other group members,
helping individuals to improve their conceptions of beliefs, intentions and self-
worth.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy educates patients on the way they think, and how it
affects how they feel. Therapy focuses on present thinking, behavior, and
communication rather than on past experiences, focusing on problem solving.
Activity Therapy provides patients an opportunity to express themselves through
different mediums of art. The purpose of art therapy is to allow the mind to create
and express itself without the use of words and to bring into balance the emotional
and creative side of individuals.
Recreation is a weather-permitting opportunity to have the patients experience
activities outside of the walls of treatment. This may include picnics, games in the
park, nature walks, or visiting local museums. This gives the patient a break from
the intensity of treatment and enhances recovery through peer interaction and
engaging in healthy sober activities.
Nightly Wrap Up provides each patient an opportunity to debrief about their day,
how they are feeling and how they progressed with personal goals.
Other activities offered to clients: going to the gym, yoga, AA/NA meetings and activities
(picnics, conventions), and other recreational activities (bowling, movies, etc.)
In addition to therapeutic groups, individual and family therapy, each patient will receive
24/7 care by the medical staff. A nursing care plan will be created upon admission and
updated by the nursing staff. While a patient is on detoxification protocols, vitals and a
focused withdrawal scale assessment will be obtained every four (4) hours; more
frequently as needed. Detox patients will have full assessments and vital signs completed
twice a day for the entirety of their stay. Those patients at the residential level of care will
receive a full assessment once a day. Any medications prescribed by the medical director
or mid-level providers will be closely monitored by the medical staff, and all medications
administered by a RN or LPN and logged appropriately in the medical record. Additionally,
patients will have ongoing access to mid-level providers for all medical issues/concerns, as
well as a psychiatrist for ongoing psychiatric and/or detox needs.
Medical Care
Each patient will meet with the Northpoint psychiatrist for a complete psychiatric
evaluation within the first three days of admission. Additionally, within the first 24 hours
each patient will meet with a mid-level provider who will complete a history and physical.
Medical conditions will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Those issues which can be
handled in house, will. On occasion, a patient may need to be sent to a hospital for
additional care/clearance before returning to Northpoint. Non-invasive procedures may
be handled in house but will be carefully evaluated by the mid-level providers to determine
the best course of action.
Mid-level providers will be present in the facility seven days a week, times will vary from
day to day. The Medical Director will be in facility Monday through Friday but will be
accessible as needed. Nursing staff will be present in the facility 24/7. A mid-level
provider or physician will be on-call and available 24/7.
Nursing staff will complete an assessment and take vitals on patients throughout the day.
The frequency is determined by the level of the care the patient is receiving and what the
medical provider requests, based on detoxification symptoms, and what medical
conditions/issues the patient is experiencing. Nursing will carefully document all
assessments into the medical record and will contact a mid-level provider or psychiatrist
with any abnormal vitals, symptoms or with any immediate needs or concerns.
Northpoint will have designated rooms for initial assessments/intakes, medical exams, and
any medically related care provided to clients. This room will provide adequate privacy,
and have a medical exam table, sink and other medical necessities.
Patients will receive medical care in the doctor’s office and nursing station area.
Medications will be dispersed from the nursing station. On occasion, and at the discretion
of the staff member, the patient may receive services (such as an assessment or vitals) in
their bedroom, or common area, provided there is ample privacy and the patient agrees to
receive service in that location.
Medication Storage and Use
All medications will be securely stored in the nursing station which will be double locked,
and not accessible to any patients. Nurses (RN or LPN) will be the only authorized staff
members to administer scheduled, PRN or over the counter medications. Medications will
be logged in the electronic medical record. Medications will be delivered from the
pharmacy daily and recorded by a RN/LPN. The nursing station will contain a refrigerator
for medications, which will be locked. The nursing station will also contain a mediation
cabinet, which will be locked, that contains emergency medications, and medications for
patient use, in the event the pharmacy has not yet delivered medication. Sharps containers
will be in the nursing station and doctor’s office. The nursing station will have a hand
washing station and be fully stocked with soap, paper towels and a garbage can.
Northpoint Nebraska’s policy and procedure manual outlines all medication policies in the
MM section.
Detoxification medications will be administered under the close supervision of the medical
team and will cease when detox symptoms have stopped. Northpoint Nebraska will not
prescribe on an ongoing basis any controlled substances. A copy of the detox protocols is
attached.
Medications ordered by the Medical Director or mid-level provider will be obtained from
the off-site pharmacy and stored in the locked medication cabinet in the nursing station.
Medications will be delivered from the pharmacy. Upon receipt, nursing staff will
inventory medications to ensure the order is accurate. Medications will vary, however
standard practice and company philosophy is not to prescribe habit-forming medications
(with the exception of short-term detoxification medications).
Patient Day Rooms / Common Area
Northpoint Nebraska will provide ample space for patients to spend free time. Common
area will provide comfortable seating and will serve as a social space. Patients may engage
in personal activities (watching TV, playing games, or visiting indoors or outdoors in
common areas). Because of the number of common areas, patients will have space to
match their needs (desire for quite or social time).
Activities such as yoga and art therapy will be offered to patients, facilitated in a group
room. Rooms will be cleared appropriately for such activities and supplied with needed
items for the extracurricular activity.
Common area may also be used for visitation.
Transportation
Northpoint Nebraska will transfer patients in vans, owned by the organization. Staff
members responsible for driving the vans will have their driving record checked (upon
hire) and provide proof of insurance. All vehicles and staff will be insured by Northpoint
Nebraska, and Human Resources will ensure all staff members are current with personal
insurance policies. Staff members will receive initial and ongoing training on van safety,
van transportation, basic rules of the road and company expectations. Northpoint will
transport patients to off-site activities, and 12 step meetings. Northpoint vehicles will
undergo required maintenance, as recommended by the dealer.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the building through the front door, side door, or
any emergency exit, if necessary.
The parking lot will serve as the parking area for employees, visitors, and patient vehicles.
The parking area will be well lit.
Staffing
Northpoint will have a variety of staff members in the facility at all times. A typically day
shift, Monday-Friday (6am to 10pm) will have approximately 15-17 staff in house (RN,
counselor, tech, administrative, leadership) and day shift on weekends 11-14 staff. Night
shifts (10pm-6am) will have 5-6 staff (RN and techs).
All staff members will complete orientation materials, and training and will have
completed HR files prior to beginning work. Every employee will have a TB test,
background check, and meet the minimum requirements of the job description for the
position they are filing. All employees will receive CPR and HIV/AIDS training within the
first 30 days of employment.
There will be an employee breakroom area, in which staff can leave personal items and
have a patient-free area for breaks/lunches. There will be no sleeping quarters for
employees, and staff members will only be in the facility during their scheduled shift. Staff
will have space to leave valuables (lockers), and the door will lock, requiring keypad access
to enter the room.
Staff will use the front or back door to enter/exit the building. During regular business
hours, the front door will remain unlocked. During off hours, the staff member will use the
doorbell to alert staff to let them in.
Work shifts will be finalized as the opening date approaches.
The Administrator will ensure there are contact phone numbers clearly posted for
employees; this will include a phone number for leadership staff on call, Administrator,
Nursing Director, and Clinical Supervisor as well as phone numbers for local emergency
services.
Northpoint Nebraska will utilize contract employees for some functions. Contracted
companies will be asked to assign a team of individuals who will be responsible for the
duties as outlined in the contract. Contracted staff who are consistently providing services
will be required to have a background check, TB test and sign off on orientation forms
(such as confidentiality, code of ethics and code of conduct).
Authority
Northpoint Nebraska will seek to obtain Joint Commission accreditation. Other authorities
who will have jurisdiction over Northpoint Nebraska: Fire Marshal, and the State of
Nebraska.
Emergency and Disaster Planning
Northpoint has a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan which all staff will be
trained to and all patients oriented on. The plan outlines what to do in case of an
emergency with both patient care, and facility management, as well as preventive
measures. Plans are reviewed at the end of each calendar year by assigned committees as
well as the Executive Team. The review will ensure effectiveness and feasibility of the plan.
Recommendations for change will be presented to the Governing Board for approval, prior
to making any changes or implementing any changes.
If it is determined the loss of heat or power will go into the night, the Administrator will
make a determination about the safety and wellbeing of the patients, and best possible
outcomes. Northpoint will enter into agreements with a couple local hotels where patients
and staff can go for the night. If the power and/or heat will be out for more than 24 hours,
a determination will be made about discharge (if appropriate), or transfer to another
facility. Patients who are not medically cleared to stay in a hotel in the event of an
emergency will be discharged from Northpoint and transferred to a local hospital for
observation and care. The patient may return to Northpoint once the power/heat is
restored.
Accommodations
Northpoint Nebraska has decided to utilize the services of a cleaning company. Northpoint
Nebraska will be cleaned daily. At the time of the Functional Program Description the
cleaning shifts have not yet been determined. Cleaning will include all restrooms (sinks,
showers, toilets, floors, empty trash, wipe down walls), bedrooms (dust, empty trash, clean
floors) and common areas (dust, wipe walls and surfaces, empty trash, dust), and dining
room (empty trash, wipe down and disinfect walls, tables and all surfaces, clean floors).
Northpoint Nebraska will have a comprehensive contract with a cleaning services, follow
which will specifically outline the scope of cleaning services to be completed, and the
methods to spot check completeness.
In addition, patients will be required to keep their personal areas free from trash, debris,
and clutter free (to allow for adequate cleaning and to provide a clean space). Patients will
also have rotating daily duties to help maintain the cleanliness of the common areas. The
Administrator and the leadership team will routinely check the facility for cleanliness and
provide ongoing, regular feedback to the cleaning company.
Patients will share a bedroom with another patient (of the same sex). Bedrooms will have
two beds per room with ample space to store personal belongings. Beds will be built in
structures, as will side tables and closet space. Bedroom doors will not lock. Hallways and
bedrooms will be gender specific, allowing for added privacy for patients.
Bathrooms will be in each bedroom and shared with the patient’s roommate. All
bathrooms will have a sink, and toilet, as well as soap, garbage can and paper towels. All
restrooms will be ADA compliant.
Common areas will provide space for the clients to relax, socialize, have quiet time, or visit
with guests during visitation time. Each gender hallway will have a lounge area with
seating and a television. The dining area and group rooms will be co-ed.
Patients will have all valuables (wallet, cell phone, laptops, etc.) checked in upon admission,
and placed into a locked area in the facility, in which only the staff will have access to. All
checked items will be recorded into the patient’s electronic health record, and in most
instances, photographed. Patients will be encouraged by the admission team to leave
valuables at home. Personal valuables will not be kept on the patient. Bedrooms will store
a patient’s clothing and hygiene items, along with a few personal items (such as photos, or
books).
All bedroom doors will have a small window, which allows for staff to have a visual of the
room for safety reasons. Staff members will be required to knock before entering, and
facility rules mandate that only patients residing in a bedroom may enter that bedroom.
Patients may not enter rooms they are not occupying, even if invited in. Any exterior
window looking into a client treatment space or bedroom will have tinting to provide
privacy.
Patients will be afforded privacy by means of private restrooms, and space within their
bedroom that is not directly in front of the door-window. No patients may enter the
bedroom of any other patient that they are not currently residing in. No visitors will be
allowed in patient bedrooms. Staff is required to knock before entering any bedroom. Staff
will attempt to minimize disruptions to the patients while they are spending time in their
bedrooms. All patients will be oriented to facility rules and advised that patient safety is
the top priority of Northpoint. Patients will be made aware that staff is allowed to enter
bedrooms and restrooms when deemed necessary, but that the privacy of the patients is of
the utmost importance to the staff. Patients will be encouraged to get dressed in restrooms
for additional privacy.
Group rooms will be used for both education and process group (chairs will be in the group
rooms), or other activities such as yoga or art therapy. The dining area will be used for
eating and can also double as a lecture hall space for education groups for more than 12
patients.
Counselor offices will be used for counselors to meet with patients individually, and for
family sessions. Counselor office space may be shared with multiple counselors. The doors
will have keypads as a locking system, to prevent patients from entering. Doors will have a
small window, allowing for staff to look in for safety and observation checks.
There will be an intake office for new admissions, and a doctor office, which will be used for
nursing assessments/admissions and for the providers to see patients. The doctor office
will have necessary medical supplies. A staff member will accompany a patient to the
intake room, or doctor’s office, when necessary.
Patients will be allowed visitors, in accordance to the schedule. Visitors are allowed in all
approved common areas. Visitors are not allowed in patient bathrooms or in bedrooms,
and may only use designated restrooms off the lobby. Visitors and other guests will enter
through the main doors and will be asked to remain in the lobby until they can be
accompanied to the approved destination. All visitors will be required to sign a
confidentiality statement and wear a visitor badge. Visitors who have proven to be
disruptive or are a source of stress for the patient may be denied access by the staff.
Visitors who appear to be under the influence will be asked to leave the patient area
immediately and remain in the lobby until the visitor is able to secure a ride.
Patients will be allowed to move freely among the facility, in the designated and allowed
areas. Staff will be present and will monitor patient activity to ensure rules are followed,
and that patients are in the space they are allowed.
All doors which lead into “staff” space (doctor office, nursing station, staff breakroom,
counselor offices, storage areas), will have a keypad or card reader access to enter. Door
codes will frequently be changed by the administrative staff. When codes change, affected
staff members will receive an email with the new code. Patients will not be allowed
unaccompanied in any staff room.
All other vendors will use the front door to enter/exit the building, unless otherwise
directed by authorized personnel. Vendors may include pharmacy, laboratory, cleaning
services, landscape maintenance or contracts completing work.
Outdoor Space
Northpoint Nebraska will provide private, outdoor space. A smoking area will be
designated (at least 25 feet from the door), with tables, chairs, garbage can, and shade
umbrellas. This area will be surrounded by a privacy fence. Outdoor patio furniture will be
used, which can withstand weather conditions, and be easily cleaned. The area will be
modestly and neatly landscaped, with large trees and bushes to provide additional privacy.
All shrubs, flowers and trees will be safe to have around humans (non-poisonous).
Laundry Service
Residents will do their own laundry in the patient laundry room. Laundry rooms will have
a fan, and appropriate lighting. Each laundry room will have a utility sink, washer, dryer,
and table. Patients will be provided laundry soap. Washers and dryers will be maintained
on a regular schedule, which will include cleaning vents, pulling the washer/dryer out to
clean behind it and any other maintenance as deemed necessary. Patients will be
encouraged to do their own laundry, separate from others (not mixing laundry with other
patients).
Facility laundry will be sent out to a local company to wash/dry and fold linens. This
company will ensure no soiled laundry is in contact with clean linens, and that they meet all
OSHA, CDC and federal guidelines. Laundry service will pick up/delivery linens from
Northpoint Nebraska and Northpoint will ensure a clean and dirty linen room is utilized
correctly.
Food Service
Northpoint Nebraska will hire a caterer to bring in three meals a day, seven days a week.
The caterer staff will be responsible for ordering food, preparing menus (and healthy
menu choices), serving meals and cleaning up after meals.
Northpoint will require strict adherence to state policies in regard to food handling and
safety and the cleanliness of the dining and kitchen area. Menus will be planned 30 days in
advance, and include a variety of food groups, to be served in portions that are in line with
FDA food portion requirements/recommendations. Food will be served to clients to
manage portion control, and food handling/safety. Northpoint will maintain all required
state licenses for food handling and comply with all food safety and handling laws and
regulations.
Communication
Phones will be located in common areas for patient use, on the second floor. Internal
phones will be throughout the facility, in staff areas (offices, nursing station, reception
desk) and internal paging systems will be available. Psych Techs will have walkie-talkie
radios as well as cell phones to reach staff in other areas of the building in case of
emergency. In the event of an emergency, staff will call 911 and respond to the emergency
as trained, and appropriate.
Security
All doors will be locked from the outside, except for the front door which will remain
unlocked during established business hours and the door entering the building from the
patient outdoor common area. The door from the front lobby into the patient area will
have a card reader access lock.
Patient Records
All patient records will be maintained electronically in the EMR system. All laptops will be
passcode protected, and staff will be routinely required to change their passwords in the
EMR, and email. Staff will only have access in the EMR to those records/details which are
pertinent to their position. Both laptop and desktop computers will be in the facility, for
staff use.
HIPAA & Electronic Health Record
Northpoint Nebraska takes HIPAA and 43 C.F.R., Part 2 compliance very seriously. All staff
will undergo a HIPAA compliance training course through HIPAATrainig.com upon hire and
every two years thereafter, as well as 42 C.F.R., Part 2 training, and records will be
maintained by the Director of Compliance. Northpoint has very clear and direct policies
regarding HIPAA protections and patient rights. All staff will read and understand internal
policies and procedures as well as complete the HIPAA training.
All medical records will be maintained in a secure electronic health record system. Staff
will have a user ID and be required to change their password frequently. Staff can
document on forms in the medical record, or scan documents into the medical record. Staff
members will have access to laptops and desktop computers, and iPads will be utilized for
patients to sign documents within their medical record.
Use of Restraints
Northpoint Nebraska is a voluntary treatment program. Northpoint will not use any
physical restraint to manage a patient’s behavior. In the event of an emergency, staff will
follow policy pertaining to patient outbursts.
Staff will call 911 if dangerous situations present.
Visitors
Individuals receiving care at Northpoint will be allowed a limited number of visitors on a weekly
basis. Visitation day is each Sunday. Multiple visitor blocks will be established to allow for
visitors to comfortably flow in and out of the building. An example of visitation blocks may
include: Block A 10:00am-12:00pm, Block B 1:00pm-3:00pm, Block C 3:30pm-5:30pm. Patients
will be evenly split between visitation times to ensure an even flow of visitors. It can be
estimated that 44 patients spread between three visitation times (14 assigned patients per time
slot).
Patients will be asked to limit the number of visitors to 4 individuals and are also asked to (if
possible) arrive in one vehicle. It is important to note that not all patients have visitors and
patients may not receive visitors until day three of their treatment.
Counselors will schedule family therapy sessions at times convenient for the patient’s family
and staff. This may be done via telehealth or in person. It is uncommon to have more than one
patient with a scheduled family therapy session at the same time. Families arriving for family
therapy will be asked to park in the visitor parking area.
Parking
Staff parking will be in the rear of the building (south side). Staff are encouraged to carpool
when available. Monday through Friday are peak staff hours and it is estimated there will be
approximately 23-26 vehicles on site. From 6pm-6am and on weekends this number is
estimated to be closer to 13-17.
It is rare that individuals drive themselves to treatment, but if they do, they will be encouraged
to park in the front (north) of the building in the visitor parking area. Our Washington facility
(44 bed facility) on average has one patient vehicle in the parking lot at a time.
Accreditation
Northpoint will apply for state licensure and Joint Commission accreditation. A state license
will not be issued until all required documentation is received by the state (which will be
submitted early on and received/approved before the end of construction) and the Fire
Marshal has completed their final walk through. A copy of this license will be maintained onsite
and available as needed.
All Northpoint facilities are Joint Commission accredited, and the facility in Omaha will be as
well. The accreditation application cannot be submitted until the day the facility opens.
Typically, a survey occurs within 45-75 days from opening which will grant accreditation. COVID
may affect this timeline.
Resident Bedroom Area
Each bedroom will include roughly 275 -300 square feet of area including restroom and
bedroom space. The minimum requirement of 200 square feet of building area per resident will
not be exceeded.
