Heritage Preservation Commission as an Architect member. Mr. Killian will replace Albert

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, Section 24-28 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides that vacancies
occurring in the membership of the Commission may be filled as provided in Section 24-26 of
the Omaha Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, Section 24-26 of the Omaha Municipal Code provides for the Mayor
to appoint the members of this Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Jean Stothert desires to appoint George E. Killian to the
Landmarks Heritage Preservation Commission as an Architect member to replace Albert T.
Macchietto whose term expired. Mr. Killian's term shall commence upon passage by the City
Council, and expire three years thereafter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, the nomination and appointment by the Mayor of George E. Killian as an
Architect member on the Landmarks Heritage Preservation Commission, to serve a three-year
term commencing upon passage by the City Council, and expire three years thereafter, be and
hereby is confirmed and approved.

George Killian is the Campus Architect at UNO working in the Facilities Management
and Planning Department. He is responsible for all new construction and remodeling on
campus. He started at UNO in June/2005. Currently he is managing over$40 million in
construction. George attended Southeast Community College at Milford,NE and
received his professional architectural license in September/1995 and is a member of the
American Institute of Architects. George volunteers on a regular basis and is currently
and on the advisory board at Maple Crest Care Center and served on the Omaha
Plumbing Board for 6 years. He is married and has two sons and two stepdaughters.
