RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, the Omaha Human Rights and Relations Department is a certified
partner with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") under the Fair
Housing Assistance Program("FHAP"),U.S.C. §3601et seq.,which authorizes cooperation between
local governmental agencies to provide programs and services to assist HUD carry out Fair Housing
initiatives; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Omaha Human Rights and Relations Department and U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development entered into a Cooperation Agreement for the
purpose of the City of Omaha Human Rights and Relations Department receiving reimbursement for
processing housing discrimination complaints and other housing programs and outreach arising
within its jurisdiction for HUD for the time period of October 1,2013,to September 30,2014,and in
the amount of$77,214.00; and,
WHEREAS,that Cooperation Agreement was approved by the Omaha City Council;
and,
WHEREAS,the Cooperation Agreement has been amended by HUD to increase the
amount of assistance funds from$77,214.00 to$390,214.00 or a total increase of$313,000.00 which
represents additional partnership funding; and,
WHEREAS, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" is the proposed Amended Assistance
Award from HUD; and,
WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of the City of Omaha to approve such Amended
Assistance Award; and,
WHEREAS,the Mayor recommends approval of such Amended Assistance Award.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF OMAHA:
