RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA:
WHEREAS, on January 7, 2015, the One-Hundred and Fourth Legislature of the
State of Nebraska, First Session, will convene; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Omaha and its residents that a
legislative package be prepared for submission to the State Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of this resolution to approve a specific proposal for
inclusion in that package; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF OMAHA:
THAT, at the request of Council President Pete Festersen, the legislative package
of the City of Omaha for the First Session of the One-Hundred and Fourth Legislature of the
State of Nebraska shall include a proposal to introduce legislation to change the law requiring the
State of Nebraska to carry forward the balance of local option sales tax refunds for all classes of
cities for one year under State economic incentive laws like it currently does for smaller cities
and villages.
